Verona

 Thursday, October 2

Arrived at the Airbnb at 8pm.

Orange bed.

Looks clean.

Bathroom is the most important.

Must be new.

Good.

Small little backyard

outside the room.

We left our bags at the front desk.

We are going to explore Verona.

Meet Eliza and Francesco

who attended to us.

Nice and clean.

Quite new.

We like new.

We are walking to

Piazza Bra,

the largest public square

in Verona.

Passed by this eatery.

Saw the word

gluten - free

and a smile broke out.

This is part of ...

... The Verona charm.

We were looking for ...

... a cafe to have our breakfast.

Directly opposite ...

... is this castle.

Castlevecchio.

We crossed over ...

... to see what ...

... it's all about.

World War II

There is a museum ...

... but it was still early.

Not opened yet.

So we took some photos ...

... outside ...

... the museum.

Walking along ...

... the castle path.

This guy is some admiral

in the military during the war.

Inside the castle.

Walking out of the castle.

Crossed the road ...

... to the other side.

View of castle.

We decided on this cafe here.

Menu is here.

Select a set.

Sit back and relax.

Waitress came to set the table.

Beside us.

Our cappuccino is here.

Perfect!

Our egg and bacon ...

... is served.

Don't be fooled ...

... the bacon is piled up high.

We enjoyed ...

... our breakfast.

Off we go.

We passed a ramen shop.

It was a nice day  ...

... for a leisure walk.

We took photos ...

... here and ...

... there.

Look at this ...

... and these.

Mouth-watering ...

pizzas.

We were making ...

... our way to ...

Piazza Bra.

Not this.

We are just snapping photos ...

... left and ...

... right.

Piazza Bra is the ...

... largest ...

... public square ...

... in Verona.

Ah. See the light.

We have arrived.

A stretch of cafes ...

... from one end to the next.

The Arena.

Roman Amphitheatre.

This stretch ...

... is known as ...

... the Liston Promenade.

Liston refers to the long marble

 slabs on the pavement.

Strolling along the path.

The structure at the far end.

Palazzo Barbieri.

Town Hall.

The arena was built in the

1st century AD.

The strolling path ...

... is like never ending.

We are heading ...

... the arena.

There is a queue of people

 waiting to go in.

It was really nice ...

... just ...

... observing...

... people.

Entrance door is now open.

Visitors are going in ...

... on an orderly manner.

This entrance is for VIPs.

This town is ...

... so cute ...

... and charming ...

... with all its unique ...

... cafes and restaurants.

This Arena was built before

the Roman Colloseum.

About 40 years earlier.

We walked through ...

... the piazza ...

... and took ...

... many photos.

Get ready to see them all.

House of Juliet

The Market Square.

Piazza delle Erbe.

See the words :

Sorry, Vegans!

Haha.

Yup. Bata is in Verona.

Juliet's House

That's the famous balcony.

Juliet's Wall

The courtyard of Juliet's House.

Have to walk very carefully.

Touching the right breast of

 Juliet's statue is a tourist

 tradition that brings luck

to finding love.

This is Lincoln.

Making a cheese and bacon

bun for us.

FREE  D?

By the way ...

... if you have not noticed ...

... Verona is all about ...

... balconies.

Check these out.

Lunch time.

Eateries are all ...

... packed with people.

More balconies.

Duomo of Verona.

Santa Maria Assunta
