Cinque Terre 2

 Thursday, October 9

MONTEROSSO

So, Cinque Terre

 consists of

The 5 Fishing Villages :

Monterossa

Vernazza

Corniglia

Manarola

Riomaggiore

In the morning, we went on the

hiking trail

from Manarola to Corgnilia.

At  9:45 am to 2:30 pm.

We were planning to visit

 Monterosso & Vernazza

in the evening.

Yup, on the same day.

Trust me.

We couldn't believe it ourselves ...

that we had so much energy

and that our legs could still carry us

from one place to the next,

after walking for almost 5 hours

on a hiking trail!

Nothing is impossible.

4:27 pm.

Welcome to ...

Monterossa.

This is a ...

beach area.

The scenery ...

at the ...

seaside.

The weather ...

was cool ...

and warm ...

at the same time.

We got some ...

snacks to much ...

while ...

chilling ...

under a ...

shade. Grin.

We were the only ones ...

in the shade.

After enjoying our fried seafood,

we took ...

a few more photos before we headed  ...

back to the train station to visit ...

VERNAZZA

5.22 pm.

This is ...

the ...

little town of ...

Vernazza.

The 5 villages ...

are located ...

nearby to ...

one another.

It takes only ...

5 minutes or so ...

to go ...

from one village ...

to the ...

next ...

by train.

The weather is ...

a bit colder ...

in the ...

evenings.

We are walking ...

towards the ...

wharf.

This fishing village ...

Vernazza ...

is a hub for ...

boat tours and

ferry services ...

that explore the ...

Cinqiue Terre coastline ...

from the sea.

We took ...

our time ...

to discover ...

and explore ...

the pier.

The buildings ...

are in their famous ...

pastel and neutral colours.

We saw a restaurant located high up ...

from ground level.

Here are ...

some fishing boats ...

bobbing freely ...

in the water.

I mentioned to Bryan that ...

the fishing area ...

smells fresh ...

the surroundings ...

look clean ...

and just - beautiful.

Vernazza has no car traffic ...

and remains ...

one of the ...

truest ...

fishing villages ...

on the ...

Italian Riviera.

This is the only ...

natural port ...

of Cinque Terre ...

and is ...

famous for its elegant houses.

Look at the sky.

How amazing ...

are the rays.

The temperature in the afternoons ...

are between 18 to 20c ...

whilst mornings could be around 6 to 8c.

There's another eatery ...

at the top of ...

these rocks.

How serene.

Tranquil.

We sat by ...

the ...

pier ...

 observing ...

the sky ...

and our ...

surroundings.

It's time to ...

go back to the train station.

We reached Manarola station at 6:30 pm

It was incredible what

we had managed to achieve today.

Especially the hiking trail in the morning,

from Manarola to Corniglia.

To visiting Manarossa and Vernazza

in the evening,

on the same day.

We couldn't believe we had that

kind of stamina.

I was also very pleasantly surprised

we had no foot sores or blisters

from walking so much.

Sketches -- the trusted brand.

Grin.
